Do you ever feel like you are in a rut? Or maybe you’re just stuck in one thing, like writing for your blog. Here are a few do’s and don’ts for getting yourself un-stuck:
…resort to watching more TV – no good seems to come from this <– mistake I made this last week or so
…assume it will correct itself – you have to take some action to move forward
…turn on the Xbox – same result as TV
…give up! Instead, go directly to the “Do’s”
…Go to Starbucks, Barnes & Noble (where I am now), or anywhere you can just relax and veg
…Read other Blogs you enjoy and that make you think. For me, those include Scott Adams (Dilbert), CopyBlogger, and the Redhead Writing.
…Open up your blog, word file, or Mac-thing notetaker and just start writing
It can be tough to get out of a drudge-like stuper, but if you shake things up a bit you can find your way through to the other side. Don’t be afraid to read some things that you might not agree with or otherwise like. Those dissenting opinions could lead you to some new ideas.
When those ideas come, be ready to write them down and build on them. If you don’t you might get bitten by the 37-second rule, then you might miss the chance to get un-stuck…
