I’ve spent quite a bit of time on the Apple Apps Store looking at apps I can use. You see, I just received a shiny new iPad and I’m trying to figure out how to do more than surf random web pages.
For instance, when I go to FaceBook, I don’t see the chat feature. Yup, there’s an app for that.
When I look at my blog, I’d like a better interface for managing my site. Yup, there’s an app for that (free WordPress app, and I’m using it now).
What if you want your iPad to have a Star Trek PADD look to it? You guessed it…an app. (but you could spend the dollar on something better, I think).
NY Times? App
Dilbert? App
ESPN? App
Get the idea? Probably an app to help you do that too.
The jury is still out on whether this will be a good device for blogging. I think I need to invest in a keyboard. This touch screen is good, but I think the wireless Apple keyboard makes more sense.
As for use as an e-reader, I’ll have to get back to you on that. I read a free chapter from a book with the kindle reader, and it seemed to work fine. I’ll try the Nook reader this weekend.
Web surfing, music and movies all rock on this thing.
Note: no PC’s were harmed in the writing of this blog…
