I’ve found that when I prepare a presentation to teach something, I always end up discovering something new about the topic, no matter how much I knew before.
3 things that help that to be true:
– I research a new source – keeps me on top of new information
– I provide a handout – makes me think of what is most valuable to my audience
– I encourage questions – someone in the audience always knows something I don’t
Want to get better at something? Teach others about it, and you’ll learn more yourself.
