Today, the 2012 World Champion of Public Speaking, Ryan Avery, spoke today as the opening keynote for our 2013 Spring Conference.
Ryan told an awesome story about his journey toward becoming the World Champion of Public Speaking. Turns out there might be more to it than you thought.
Imagine spending hours every day of the week, week after week, from January into late August pursuing a singular, and difficult, goal. Add to that a broken leg halfway through, learning months in that one world class speech wont be enough (you need two) and one of the most supportive wives in American history (Avery Today).
“Don’t focus on excuses, focus on opportunities” – Chelsea Avery
Ryan’s speech was one that told us that having a specific goal, a supportive team and executing your plan with a lot of hard work can truly pay off.
Ryan’s Seven tips for success
1. Commit (to being excellent)
2. Create a plan
3. Create clarity
4. Find your Chelsea
5. Build your community
6. Give thanks
7. Give more (to yourself and others) and Stay Committed!
