We’re already on the road to having a great year! Over 380 Officer positions were trained this season just in June! Great job to all of those that helped with TLIs in Wichita, Topeka, Springfield, Overland Park and Liberty.
A few idiosyncracies about our official transition from 30 June to 1 July:
Toastmaster’s International’s reports will be reflecting 2009-2010 data for a few days while they get all of the end-of-year paperwork processed. I haven’t heard a date on this, but expect it to take through next week. There are a lot of new clubs and awards input in the last week of the month. Our District had two clubs submitted this week.
If you input any awards or new members on-line today or later, they will reflect for the 2010-2011 year. For awards, you won’t be able to see them on the daily reports, but make sure you keep the e-mail confirmation from TI.
There is a new CL manual available (shopping link here), and they have a better tracking sheet available for free download and use with the current or new manual. If you are in the process of completing one of the existing manuals, you can go ahead and finish it up with no issues. The existing manuals will remain valid for the forseeable future (at least a year, probably more).
I haven’t read any news on the transition to the new on-line system, but the existing club passwords still work. I expect that in the next week or so we will hear about the transition to the new system. I recommend keeping records of anything you input from today through that transition, just in case.
TI Podcasts – These are great ways for you to keep up on Toastmasters-related topics. Whether you are a district leader, club officer or new member you can learn about some great topics such as Fighting Stage Fright, Volunteering, Delivering the Bad News… with Style and many more! Download them to your iPod (or less cool music device) and listen to these on the way to work.
This is your year! Make it a great one as you achieve your goals and help the members of your clubs to achieve theirs. By working as a team and Keeping the Promise, we can make this our best year yet in District 22 and throughout Toastmasters International!
